About Kashagawigamog Lake
Haliburton’s claim to fame is the fabulous Kashagawigamog Lake. This 16 kilometer long lake is part of a chain of great fishing lakes, including Soyers, Grass and Head Lakes. The north end of the lake sees its action mainly from bass, muskie and walleye. Some anglers report that the muskie fishing in Kashagawigamog Lake (or Kash Lake, as it is sometimes called) can challenge anglers. The north end of the lake is probably your best bet, as is the area through the narrows into Grass Lake.
If you are targetting muskie, make sure your gear is on the heavier side. These are large, fighting fish and your gear needs to be up to the challenge. Further south, in some of the deeper sections, lake trout thrive. Lake trout prefer the deeper, cooler water. Ice fishing on Kashagawigamog Lake can be exhilarating as well. The north end of the lake is great for walleye.
