The first open water outing of the year took place over the weekend, and it was a success! In the past I have only ever jigged for lake trout but we decided trolling out on Lake Ontario would be our best bet in covering water. My arms are still recovering as these fish are hard work to bring in! ๐ช This one pictured is not my biggest of the weekend but one of the prettiest with those bright orange fins! ๐ I'll be posting a blog about this adventure soon!

"It all began with the very first cast. Gotta love it when that happens!" Read about my smallmouth bass experience while visiting Sportsman's Lodge Wilderness Resort on Kukagami Lake! ๐ https://www.northernontario.travel/northeastern-ontario/kukagami-lake-smallmouth-bass

What was Ladies Ice Fishing Weekend on Lake Temagami all about? ๐ฃ Check out my latest blog to find out: https://shelovestofish.com/2018/03/27/ladies-ice-fishing-weekend-with-video/

Very excited to o-fish-ally share the details of a new event: Ladies Ice Fishing Weekend! So looking forward to this adventure, new experiences, and the friendships that will form through this weekend on the ice! ๐ฃ Special thanks to Northeastern Ontario Tourism and Temagami Shores Inn & Resort for partnering with me on this event!

Lake trout in a blizzard! โ๏ธ I am so grateful to have landed this gorgeous fish while on a blogging trip to Windy Lake Provincial Park last week! ๐ฃ You can read my full story on the Ontario Parks blog here: http://www.ontarioparks.com/parksblog/lake-trout-fishing-at-windy-lake/

Nobody loves anything more than Janet loves this walleye! You can't see it, but there's happy tears behind those glasses ๐ Read about our epic fishing adventure during Ladies Walleye Weekend 2017 in my latest blog post: https://shelovestofish.com/2017/12/31/ladies-walleye-weekend-2017/ I can't wait to do all again this year! ๐ฃ

One of the best fishing memories of 2017 was meeting Babs Kijewski of Germany, when she visited Ontario to target carp! Can't wait until our next adventure ๐ฃ๐ Here's a story I wrote about our afternoon on the water: https://www.northernontario.travel/fishing/babs-kijewski-fishes-for-carp-in-peterborough-ontario?s=

Tomorrow my boat officially goes to sleep for the winter ๐ญHoping to be chasing these guys through the ice soon! Be safe out there!

A bycatch while walleye fishing this fall: freshwater drum (also known as a sheepshead). These fish can be LARGE and in charge! They'll peel so much line, will make your arms hurt, and sometimes even bend hooks. Gotta love a good battle ๐ช ๐ท: Daniel Notarianni

The fall walleye season comes to an end on a high note! Musky legend John Anderson of The Ottawa River Musky Factory (left) jumped aboard our boat for a day of walleye fishing with his friend Kent (right). John is no stranger to walleye but this would be Kent's first time targeting this species. We had an outstanding day with not only nice weather but 24 walleye making their way into the boat for a brief visit. Both guys left with huge smiles on their faces and some new personal bests achieved! What a way to end the open water season ๐

It's been an incredible fall walleye season with some truly unforgettable fish! This big gal is my best of the season so far at 12 pounds, 2 ounces ๐ So grateful for friends who braved the cold and hopped aboard Dreamcatcher, many of whom were rewarded with personal bests! There was some heartbreak, happy tears, singing, dancing, a lot of cheering, and some great photos to remember it all. I've been working on articles about these adventures along with a wrap-up coming soon on my website. I almost have tears in my eyes thinking that the open water season may be done for me... but there's still hope for one last trip! Thanks to all that made it such a memorable season ๐ Fingers crossed that it's not over yet!

I've officially shed tears of joy on my boat ๐ Ladies Walleye Weekend starts tomorrow but Lori came up a day early to join Eric and I aboard Dreamcatcher. I brought in this 9 pounder and moments later, Lori hooked into this 12 pound, 12 ounce beauty! This was her first double digit walleye and we all were ecstatic! What a memory ๐ The fun continues all weekend!

'Tis the season for fat walleye ๐ I just can't get enough!

The fall bite has been a BLAST on the Bay of Quinte and I'm SO excited for Ladies Walleye Weekend (it's just one week away)! It's not too late to join us as one spot opened up recently. Message me for details ๐ ๐ธ: Daniel Notarianni

My biggest walleye of the season yet, 11 pounds! Nothing warms my heart more than these stunning golden fish! ๐ This walleye isn't a personal best but hopefully the ice holds off for a long while cause we're not done yet! *There is one spot still open for the Ladies Walleye Weekend November 24-26 on the Bay of Quinte. Please message me for details ๐*

๐ฎ "Is this real life?!" A few beasts have hit the net recently but this one is the biggest of the season thus far, AND it's Eric's new personal best walleye at 13 pounds! My heart skips a beat in the presence of a fish of this calibre, such a magnificent creature. I'm so grateful to have shared this moment with great people and to have a photo to always remember it by. The fish lives on, too! Photo by Daniel Notarianni.

My first fish of the day happened to be my first double digit of the year! So happy๐

My biggest of the season so far! Grateful for every catch but there's just something so special about fat fall walleye and I hope to find some more ๐

Congrats to my friend, Lori, on a new personal best walleye! ๐ We have ONE spot left for our Ladies Walleye Weekend taking place November 24-26 out of Picton (Ontario). Please contact me for full details!

A fun day of chasing walleye with wonderful company, and dance parties on the boat to keep warm!
