While trying out my new fly rod I hooked a pike that had some pretty serious wounds on him. At least 1 on the back of his head and then what looked to be a good cut right behind the pectoral fin. Sadly the fish got away before I could take a closer look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR4ME27IcQM

Once every few years my wife and I like to drive up to the Yukon to fish Frances Lake. This year the lake trout were not cooperating but the pike fishing was tremendous. We caught and released a lot of 20 pound class fish. And then I hooked this 29 pound monster! Here, finally, was a "keeper" as defined by the Yukon fishing regulations... I caught it on a floating Rapala using 10 pound line and being alone in the boat had to net it myself. Talk about exciting!
