Shallow, swampy, and hard to navigate/ escape from

Just over 3 lbs on Swan yesterday. Only one but what a beautiful day on the water.

Good day on the lake Two of us managed to haul in 16 perch one day then followed it up with 17 more perch and 1 whitefish the next Best start to a season ever!

Is this a carp?

Fishing on swan lake two years ago, friend and I were trolling and had this thing hit my line. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pounds to my reckoning. Are carp invasive? Just wondering what to do with one off I catch one again. Everyone says I should have killed it. I just released it back into the water.

Catch and Release

A friend and I spent yesterday catching Perch and Sunfish. Sunfish are very agressive, attacking anything thrown into the water, which makes it difficult at times to keep your bait when setting your line. Once we found the perch we were hauling them in like crazy but all were quite small yet. Others on the water were having similar issues that day.

Stagnant water source

This lake is way overstocked. There is not enough fresh water circulating. The lake is basically for the few lucky ones with boats, as there is absolutely no way to fish from the shore on swan lake. It would be nice as it is very close to Vernon. I do not understand why such small puddles are so overstocked with trout when there are 100's of lakes that need fish.
