There is no Ice on Monte Lake yet

We had an aqua-vu camera in the water. I was jigging and my son said “daddy, there is a fish!” I looked and saw the fish bite but couldn’t feel the bite, I set the hook anyways and we got this beautiful Kokanee through the ice.

02/05/17 Big Largescale Suckers

Saw plenty of LS gliding by my hole 2day. Even a 10lb-er, 30" long. kept smackin em in the head @ 6' under the ice with my glowhook, over the deep water while waitin on kok's since they dont come around when these things showup. kept tryin to suck on my flasher, not interested at all in my glowhook. I woulda fished em outta there if i could, they compete 4 zooplankton with the kok's. So if u see em, try and pull em thru the hole. They make good fishcakes if u smoke em, bake em, and then cake em!

Has anyone been ice fishing on Monte Lake, BC this 2016/17 season?

Straight shooters

Steep, sometimes there is a drop off. Would be o.k. for a small aluminum on a trailer or a cartopper hand launched.

Kokanee fishing is good

ice fishing on monte lake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

had a great time fishing on the lake last week got some nice fish got some nice trout and kokanee the ice is getting wet should be ice off in a coupl e of weeks .then we can get up and get at EM good stuff

Nice size fish in this lake

We have caught a fair amount of rainbow on the north end of this lake. There is a small campground at the very top of the lake where you can easily launch a boat. Most of what we have caught were in the 2lb range, but have landed a couple 5 pounders. green, brown, and black flatfish work well and have had some success with spratleys and larger green flies.
