The kids and I went down to our cabin for the Spring Break of March 2020, which turned into social distancing and self isolation for my kids and I because of the Covid 19 pandemic. We stayed at the cabin for 10 days, eventually having to leave because of dwindling supplies . During our time though, we fished everyday. We caught massive amount of Pea Mouth Chubbs and a few Burbot. Every night, I would go set me line with new bait and every morning, after my cup of coffee, we would head out onto the ice and check our Burbot line. This is the first and biggest one I ever caught on Naltesby Lake . I did catch one more smaller one. So, 2 Burbot out of 10 days. I was hoping for 10 out of 10! Delusions of grander, clearly! Ha ha. But our last meal at the cabin was Fish and Chips made from the Burbot. I had some pancake mix that I used as the batter. Thank goodness I brought out enough oil to fry the fish in! I had no ketchup for our french fries, but thank-goodness for our neighbors who gave us some. Burbot is one of most favorite fish to eat. It's definitely a blessing and treat for every one we catch.

Nice day out on the frozen Lake. My friend and I had to hike down to the lake and break trail through 2 feet of snow. We set up the tent, chairs and heater buddy, and then put the line down. Not even 5 minutes later, we had this nice 4 pound Burbot on the line. My friend reeled slowly while I guided the line and I had a feeling it wasn't hooked very well so once I seen it, I reached down the hole and grabbed it. Brought it out onto the ice, and there was the hook, laying on the ground beside it. Phew! Only one we caught, but it was a nice catch.

Last Ice fishing trip with my father before the spring melt. We never tried this lake before as it's not the easiest to get onto (deep snow, crossing train tracks). It was a gorgeous late March day. We drilled a few holes and and jigged for some Burbot. Instead of a Burbot, my Father caught this Dolly Varden beauty. We had no idea that Dolly Varden were in this lake! What was even nicer, it was just the right size to keep. We caught a few small Burbot and left to make a fish and chip dinner that night. It was the fist Dolly Varden my father ever caught too.

Sunset at 10 Mile Lake....
Sunset at 10 Mile Lake. The first Sunset we experienced while Ice Fishing. Normally, we fish early morning. But we decided to try a late afternoon fish. We didn't catch anything, but I got this beautiful picture. With no snow on the lake, just ice, the ice caught the reflection of the setting sun, and made for a moment you would normally see in the summer.

Here is a beautiful Dragonfly...
Here is a beautiful Dragonfly sitting on the tip of my fishing rod one afternoon last June at Grizzly Lake. What you don't see is that he was missing half his tail. I think something nipped it off. A fish? Another Dragonfly? I placed it on a nearby branch as he couldn't or wouldn't fly away. His loss was my gain for this beautiful close and personal picture.

Family Fishing weekend! We...
Family Fishing weekend! We caught and kept a few nice ones, and threw back many small kokanee. We had the whole lake to ourselves that weekend. It was beautiful.

Decided to take a Selfie of me...
Decided to take a Selfie of me ice fishing, but I couldn't help it, I had to look at my line to see if it was tight. I love tight lines ! Must keep Ice fishing is my motto.

Twilight at the lake
The twilight just before the longest night of the year. June 20th, 11:00pm. It really reminded me of artwork done in Pastels. Soft and pretty.

He did it!
My 6 year old son fought to bring in this big walleye while we were fishing in Alberta. We were heading back to shore when it took the lure. It took him a good 5 min to bring it in, but he wanted to do it all by himself. Turned out it was big enough to keep by a centimeter! Pretty proud mom.

Somewhere under the rainbow, Rainbow trout are caught
Another beautiful Rainbow made its appearance while attending the Nukli Lake Fishing Derby. Kids won some door prizes. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Rainbow over HogsBack Lake
Does this picture even need a description? One of the reasons I love to fish.

Beautiful Little Rainbow
The Rainbow Trout are not very big at this Lake, but they were fun to catch and release. They were also pretty to look at.

Fishing Woodcock Lake
Skies were sure moody that weekend. Chased us off the lake a few times that weekend. But we still caught some fish and and enjoyed our time out.

Morning on Babine Lake
