We had fun chasing Chum Salmon on the Stave River this fall. If you haven't caught a Chim before, they fight hard and bite at many different presentations.

Like the Tide, the Fog rolls in and out as we patiently wait for that lucky strike from a Coho or Chum Salmon.

Fred's Custom Tackle Fishing Report

September 19, 2016 The Stave River fishing is starting with some early Chum and perhaps a few Coho. The recent jump in the Fraser is a message to all the salmon to head home to their place of birth and start the entire process again. Early fish are the very best for condition and best fight. Using lures, jigs and flies are most popular from boat access or shore. Be careful to watch the water levels and hydro dam controls. Enjoy the experience and remember to limit your kill and not always kill your limit. http://www.fredscustomtackle.com/fishing-report

Stave River Fishing Report

Stave River is very quiet during this time of the year because there are no salmon returning to it until October. For now, anglers have opportunities to target coastal cutthroat trout, northern pikeminnow, mountain whitefish in the system. These can be caught by either fly fishing with a small nymph or float fishing with bait such as single eggs, dew worms. Full report at: http://fishingwithrod.com/fishing_report/lower_mainland.html
