Pb day 16 catches

Crawling Valley Reservoir, sometimes referred to as Barkenhouse Lake, is an offstream irrigation storage reservoir about 150km east of Calgary. A productive pike and walleye lake, Crawling Valley is also a great destination for camping, boating, hiking, and hunting. The Crawling Valley Campground is located on nothreast of Bassano and is open from May 1st to September 30th each year. In the late 1980’s Crawling was an excellent trout lake after years of building stocks and creating spawning areas. Anglers consistently caught trout over 15lbs! Today, it is a much different fishery with pike as the main predator in these waters. Locals suggest using a flasher jig tipped with a minnow. LAKE ACCESS Best access is from the recreation area on the west shore at the south end, near the main dam. If you’re travelling from Calgary, take Highway 1 east until you are just north of the town of Bassano, then turn off Highway 1 and continue travelling east for 5 km, then north for 3 km following signage.

I was fishing with my wife and daughters at Crawling Valley this past July. It was a pretty hot day and we weren’t getting a lot of bites, but it was a great day on the water all the same. It was so hot and sunny my good fishing buddy Harley even had to wear his shades!

Ice fishing today, -10 ish outside and sunny. We had a 20" walleye, a few smaller pike as well. Not a bad day.
