With the abnormally warm temps at the beginning of the Northern Ontario ice fishing season, my daughter and I were weeks behind in getting out onto the hard water. On of our first outings found us tag teaming this beautiful lake trout. My daughter would have taken it herself but hand lining this fella in -25 degree Celsius temperatures was a little more than she could handle.

Out on one of the first hard-water outings of the season I bumped into this nice bronzeback. I was targeting lake trout in depths between 40 and 50 feet when a tipup went off. Low and behold up came this beautiful smallmouth bass.

Lauzon Lunker

March is a great time to get out and enjoy some great ice fishing, especially with lake trout like this. Lake Lauzon is the place to be.
