With the abnormally warm temps at the beginning of the Northern Ontario ice fishing season, my daughter and I were weeks behind in getting out onto the hard water. On of our first outings found us tag teaming this beautiful lake trout. My daughter would have taken it herself but hand lining this fella in -25 degree Celsius temperatures was a little more than she could handle.

I was trying to find some new spots for an upcoming Walleye tournament on Lake George near Echo Bay, ON. After only moments of getting my two rods set up in the holders this prickly fella succumbed to a Berkley Flicker Minnow.

Prefishing with my dad for a Walleye tournament on the Spanish River near Massey, ON, I hooked into this 39" musky. She put up quite a fight given I was using a medium light jigging rod with a 1/4 oz jig head.

After catching two nice walleye in the same hole on the second day of a walleye tournament I hooked into a very heavy fish. Thinking it was a monster walleye my heart started pounding. The anticipation of catching a tournament game changer grew, only to be crushed when this 8 pound plus freshwater drum surfaced!

Putting a checkmark on the ol' bucket list. Managed a trip on the Fraser River while in BC for work. Caught this 5.5 ft White Sturgeon approx. 45 years old. What a rush!

Tip Up Rewards From watching the T bar spinning on top of the tip up to bringing up the line hand over hand, catching lake trout on the hard water it such a thrill.

One of those days you dream of - not a cloud in the sky, the water is peaceful and the fish are biting! Chiblow Lake is my favorite spring fishing hole for beautiful lakers.

What a way to spend an afternoon with your daughter and wife - Fishin'! Might only be a Sheephead (Freshwater Drum) but it still brought a smile to my daughter and I. Caught downstream from the bridge to St. Joseph Island.
