About CHIP LAKE
Pike and burbot are the big draws to Chip Lake. Con- centrate on the river inlet and outlet. Pike love the shallows if there is an easy meal, and spring is an excellent time to get in on this action. Later in the season, work on the weed beds. Pike will hang out there, waiting to ambush their prey. Make sure the line is tough enough for these sharp-toothed strikers. For burbot, small fish and aquatic insects are the order of the day. Winter ice fishing is ideal for burbot.
Regulations for Chip Lake allow dead fish for bait. Minnows are a good choice for pike and burbot. Chip Lake has a limit of 10 bur- bot and three pike and the lake is closed from April 1 to May 19.
