Dropped into Morgan on a work trip from up north, checking if any open water. About a 50' section of open water. Caught 6 nice, hard fighting fish, a few with nicest colours i've caught there all year. 1/4 oz. Croc spoons and balanced red/black leech on a bobber, no fly rod this trip. Made for a great day having open water opportunity in mid Dec!

Tried a bit of trolling from the inflatable kayak. Rigged up home depot special for rod holders to keep paddling steady. Caught 3- 12" fish on flasher spoon/red & black leech. 1 -18" fish on black rooster tail. Going back for sure.

Dropped into Cobb a week ago without the boat, just try a few casts from shore. Ended up catching 3 rainbows right at launch. Biggest about 18" fish. Tried a bunch of lures but only action was on small brown bingo bug and a black/yellow bingo bug. Pretty happy with casting 20' from shore. Bringin boat next time...
This was the unexpected hot ticket. Tipped with pet store super worm, gulp worm, scent only, worked regardless. Assumed leech patterns would be the choice but you never know.

Ran down to Dragon Lake Saturday to try for first time. 16" fish 30' from public launch before i had 20' of line out on red/black balanced leech. After that no bites anywhere on lake. After trying a good assortment of flasher spoons and flies that have produced very well elsewhere this year tied on an old Gibbs Stewart spoon with rainbow rooster tail. 6 fish in an hour from 18"-25". Only had the one combo so wife and i traded rod everytime a fish hit. Great fishing and good fighters, Worth the short drive from PG! Poor pic, gopro was not operating right, or I wasn't...

Hit Eena for probably last ice fishing visit on Saturday. Lots of Kokanee hitting and a few rainbows.. Had two I believe big koks or rainbows on for long fights to bring in and lost at the hole. Most catches were 7' to 15' under ice but some were hitting right down to 39' in 48' of water.. Still a blast-get those 2 this summer!

When I was a kid I fished every day possible, spinning and fly. Grew up got busy and lost fishing for years. Company fishing derby out of Sooke last August brought me back big time! Wife as well. Since then new Journey boat pickup in April, lots of new fishing gear, ice fishing all winter and tons of plans for the summer. Feel like a kid again!

screwed up posting this one last week. Mixed right in with Kokanee school minute apart from Kokanees before and after in the deep. Good fighter.

Good fishing lately. 3 hrs each visit in morning producing nice Kokanee and Rainbow.
