It was a start to another day on the water, as we arrived to the lake we noticed the lake was really murky from a big rainstorm a few nights before. The fish didn't seem to care about that, as we caught lots. Most of the fish we caught were Kokanee, but we did catch a few small Rainbow Trout also. We were trolling Dodger's with small Hoochies about 12 inches behind the dodger and about 25 feet below the surface. This Kokanee shown in the picture was one of the nicer sized fish caught this day.

It was a few weeks before the lakes froze over and I went on a fishing trip to a small local lake. The water was super cold and we were hoping to catch lots of fish. We started the day catching a couple trout in about 5 feet of water on small spoons and small jigs. A little while later I decided to cast a super simple rig out and see how well it would work. It was a couple small split shots and a short leader to a small hook with a little piece of shrimp and this rig works awesome for catching rainbow trout. This rainbow trout in this picture wasn't huge, but it still gave up an awesome fight on my ultralight rod and the colors of the fish are amazing. It was another great day on the water.

It was a beauty day, it was sunny and no wind. Early in the day we started fishing a spot that normally produces quite a few rainbow trout, we caught a few and we were also marking them on the fishfinder, but we weren't getting the results we were expecting. A little while later we decided to go try another spot on the same lake and had some marks on the fishfinder and it wasn't long and this beauty rainbow trout smoked my jig. This fish gave up an excellent fight, taking a few good runs making the drag of the reel scream. Took a quick couple pictures of the fish and then released it to live another day. Even though it was a slow day fishing it was still a lot of fun catching some smaller trout and this one beauty probably weighing a little over a pound.

Caught this beauty rainbow trout trolling a lucky bug on the fly rod. Awesome fight.
