My buddy Mike Weiler (in the picture)and myself where camping in Algonquin Park this past October and decided to try some shore fishing at Lake of 2 Rivers while our wives went to the art centre. We just cast some mepps spinners and started getting hit first cast. We had or limit in less than hour. We caught at least 10 nice brown trout and a couple brook trout. The brook trout where out of season. It was great weather beautiful fall colours and great fishing. Hope to go back next fall. Neil Harmer

The Friends of Algonquin Park is a great organization that cares deeply for Ontario's flagship park. One of their best programs is a class in learning to hunt down mid-summer Lake and Brook trout. After many unsuccessful solo trips I finally got smart and took the course. On my first evening out afterwards I connected with this beautiful Brookie in a lake where they had been reported as being extinct. Always happy to discover species that are thought to have been fished out finding a way to come back. This beauty was released right after the photo.
