Kendall's First Burbot After loosing a hog of a fish the weekend before, Kendall and I were determined to land her a burbot. We hadn't fished for burbot during open water before, but with the University on strike we figured why not. So we pack up our rods and headed out to Cluculz lake about 45 minutes west of Prince George. We had a tin boat, and a will. After rowing out to our "secret spot" we dropped anchor. Our bait of choice was a shrimp tipped 1oz. gibbs COHO spoon. We fished for about an hour with very little sign, then I felt something... a tap. I was super excited and set the hook, landing a 3lbs burbot. Feeling contempt with myself I send my line back down. Only a few moments later I hear the sound of a screaming reel. Kendall had a fish! She jumped up with excitement, only to knock the reel off of her rod. I saw the excitement drop from her face as she realized it was over. She picked up her reel, reattached it to her rod and began to reel in the lure to check the bait. Bam a tug back. The fish was still there! She fought it up to the surface until we were able to get it in the boat. It ended up weighing 10lbs and tasting mighty fine over a beer with friends.

A School Project that I though I would share. Any feedback on the status of the launches would be appreciated. Thanks
