Banging Wally's from shore...

On Father's day this year (2013), I took my trusty 5wt fly rod out to Charlie Lake. If you follow Lakeshore Drive from the Rotary boat launch, you will see a break in the tree line about 50 meters. There is a tiny gravel beach that`s maybe 10m wide. I tied on a green leech pattern with a gold conehead and BANG!!! 1st cast landed a solid 16" walleye. There are lots of small to medium sized rocks on the bottom and you will have to wade out from shore, but I landed 17 fish in 3.5 hours that day!!! Be wary of boaters with little or NO respect. You will get waves, some of them quite large! Tight lines......
