Morice Lake Park is big and encompasses the entirety of Morice Lake and most of the area surrounding the lake to the height of land. Rugged and steep mountains close in on both sides of the lake as it stretches southwest. This is an amazing wildness area with remarkable sights of mountains, glaciers and waterfalls crashing into the lake. There are also many recreation activities at this park such as boating, camping, canoeing, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, mountaineering, and hunting. Atna Bay is a popular spot with a waterfall on the Atna River that connects Atna Lake to Morice Lake; a series of three portage trails between Morice Lake and Atna Lake for canoe access into Atna River Provincial Park. Morice Lake Park is about 84 km from the town of Houston. Access to the park follows a radio-controlled logging road. Your public vehicles are permitted but yield to and be caution of fully loaded logging trucks; these trucks have the right of way. To get to Morice Lake Provincial Park first travel the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 16) to the town of Houston. Next you want to turn south 2 km west of the town of Houston onto the Morice River Forest Service Road (also known as the Huckleberry Mine Road); this Forest Service Road (FSR) is marked in kilometres starting at the Canfor Mill site near the Yellowhead Highway. Driving 27 km and you will arrive at the junction of the Huckleberry and Morice Lake Roads. Then turn right onto the Morice Lake Road and continue to kilometre marker 75. Following that take a right at the intersection just past the 75 km mark. Finally, follow this road for 7 km to arrive at Morice Lake Provincial Park. Blue directional blades are posted at intersections along the route to the park.
