After 75 years of chasing a whale of a rainbow, finally on a hot August day in late 2017 I caught this 7 lb 9 ounce monster rainbow trout at Skimiken Lake, which is only 26 feet at the deepest point. Once I opened him to clean him I discovered that he must have been attracted to my Frisky Fly because it was the same colour as the 21 crayfish I found in his stomach. The crayfish were so fat that we were tempted to make a meal of them as well - so in effect, we got 2 dinners with one catch! Instead, though, we decided the next day to go crayfishing and caught enough for a feast for the whole family.
