Ice fishing started -- but use caution

We've had some reports of ice fishing starting on Lake Superior's Kama Bay, but it's still early so use caution. For current tips, stop by Riverside Outdoors for more tips on the area, or visit us online at http://www.riversideoutdoors.ca/ Cheers, Allan

Fishing and ice conditions are great

Fishing has picked up recently, with lots of walleye caught. Most people using minnows and jigs. Ice conditions are also good, with some people driving on the lake. However, use caution before driving out onto the lake by checking the thickness first. For more current conditions on lakes around Thunder Bay, stop by Riverside Outdoors - http://www.riversideoutdoors.ca/ and talk to Allan.

Mixed reports so far. Go late.

We've got mixed reports for ice fishing on Whitefish Lake (best tip is to try Lac Des Mille) -- For those determined to work this lake, we've had our best luck fishing at night. We leave Thunder Bay at 3:00 pm and fish until 10 or 11, and hang big suckers. Come by our store, Riverside Outdoors, and we'll give you some more tips for fishing Whitefish Lake. We're located at 768 North James Street, located in mall with Domino's Pizza. Cheers, Allan.

Ice Fishing for Walleye Begins

Conditions are good for walleye fishing, and the ice shacks are starting to appear. Two popular locations on the lake are Sawmill and Sand Point. We prefer fishing the shallows, in roughly eight feet of water, and usually with a jig and minnows. For more current tips, drop by Riverside Outdoors and talk to us. We're located at 768 North James Street in Thunder Bay. Cheers, Allan. http://www.riversideoutdoors.ca/
