It was my opening day for muskie on Saturday June 8, 2019. Ithe was a gorgeous sunny day with very light south winds. Water temps were warming and ranged from 63F to 66 F. I got out mid morning and targeted shallow sand and rocks. As I was casting down a rocky shoal I saw a nice fish swim under the boat into about 3 feet of water. Two cast backs later with a black Angry Dragon and she was on. She gave a good fight and released string. She was just over 39 inches. It was a good start to my season. Tight lines.

This is my personal best muskie at 50 inches caught August 30, 2018 while trolling a sucker pattern baby Depth Raider. It was a tough summer with the fish being deep due to higher water temps. Finally cooler evenings started to drop the water temps and I tried some open water trolling. That morning I was reading my magazine and it said for tough conditions downsize so that is what I did and tried the baby Depth Raider versus my larger baits. She paid off in spades with this beauty of a fish. She released strong for another day.
