I sure do love me a pretty trout out of Lake Superior <3

We'd been out fishing all morning, and it didn't look like we were going to pull in anything but a couple of pike that we'd already tossed back. So we resolved to spend another half hour and then head back in to pack up. That's when I snagged bottom. Or so I thought. I started to play with my line, and realized there was a fish at the other end, so I set my hook and started to reel slowly. We saw him nearly crest the surface a couple of times, but based on the fight he was putting up, we suspected a larger pike. Took a bit of work, but by the time I got him almost near enough to net, we realized it was this monster sized pickerel, and we got really excited. That's when the shouting of instructions started. LOL In the end, I successfully landed him and he weighed in at just over 6.5lbs, my largest pickerel to date. I think it's pretty clear from the look on my face just how proud I was of this beauty!
