My daughter/best fishing buddy, Jocelyn and I were invited on an early spring Coho trip with a good friend. We had barely left the harbor in Grand Marais, Michigan, in fact didn’t even have all our lines set quite yet. My friend Robert and I were busy rigging up the planer boards when 5 year old Jocelyn says “we got a fish on!” Sure enough, one of the high lines in the back of the boat was bent nearly in half! I guess she pays attention more than I would have guessed! Jocelyn reeled while I helped her keep control of the rod. A few short minutes later, she landed this beautiful, great tasting Lake Superior coho. The whole experience must have been exhausting, as my next photo was of her taking a nap under the console!
