It was our second evening in July 2017, on famous Wollaston Lake. Four Dads and Four sons made the 46km journey by boat to stay on picturesque Estevan Island in an old trappers cabin. As many know, the weather on great Wollaston can pose a risk to any avid boatsman, but we persevered through a raging storm that day, only to enjoy a wonderful supper of fresh lake trout and steak prepared on the fire before heading out for a evening Nothern Pike hunt. This picture takes place in the setting sun that evening when the sky cleared and the lake was glass. We took to some top crawler action in the muskeg bays and this was the result...a 40” northern that attacked my Whopper Plopper as I watched it come out of the muskeg and hammered my lure. The result? A pic of that beauty’s the setting sun on the gorgeous Wollaston Lake, SK.
