Park boat launch, four launch spots, two docks. Very busy on hot days, not sheltered so can be tough loading and unloading. Shallow once you launch for a long ways.

Good Spirit Lake is a popular fishing and recreational lake close to Yorkton. The lake supports a good population of pike, perch and walleye. Although it can be shallow near the shoreline, heading out further into the depths can yield good results. Reports from iFish Saskatchewan indicate that some of the best fishing can be found heading out from the western shoreline. Pike seem to be easier to catch here than walleye, although the same could be argued for many lakes. Pike are not fussy, and will often attack anything that moves. Walleye, on the other hand, sometimes require more planning to hook. Some of the best days for fishing can be some of the least favourable conditions for anglers. Walleye will tend to be more active at night, and on cloudy, windy days. They prefer these types of conditions because wave action not only increases the oxygen in the water, but also allows them to be more concealed from their predators. Prime walleye fishing is at night, and in early spring. They can still be caught on a summer day, however, and sometimes they will take your bait if they are annoyed. Walleye will generally chase their prey, unlike pike, who will wait in the weeds (or other cover) for their prey to come to them. Lake Access From Yorkton, take Hwy 9 north for about 32 km. Turn left (west) onto Hwy 229 for nearly 20 km. Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park is an excellent summer destination. Sandy beaches, concessions, tennis and volleyball are just some of the amenities available. Restaurants, groceries and gas are available nearby. Reservations are accepted for campsites.
