Are you positive that it was a brookie? I have never heard of anyone catching one before on Westwood. Cutthroat, Rainbow, Smallmouth Bass and Sunfish, but no Brook Trout. The Freshwater Fisheries society has no record of Eastern Brook trout stocking ANYWHERE on Vancouver Island for at least 20 years.
