Visiting my parents in Elliot Lake, we went for a troll on one of the many beautiful lakes in the area. In the background is the famous Rooster Rock, one of the largest cliffs I’ve ever seen that’s not in the mountains.

On our favourite bass lake near Parry Sound, On. last fall, I caught a smallmouth that didn’t have any brown pigment in it. He wasn’t a big one, but definitely a rare catch. My first “blue bass”, it was released to perhaps be caught again when it’s a real brute.

My wife took this pic of my son learning the finer points of “frogging for largemouth” from dad. I’m soon going to have a pretty good tournament partner.

A favourite spot for my eight year old and me to get some nice largemouths, right across the road from our house. It’s a tough lake to get into, we have to drag the boat through a swampy area and over a beaver dam, but once there, it’s a magical place to explore. This was taken right at the dam, he was casting before I could even get the rest of the gear loaded up to go.
