Get Ready for Openings This Weekend!
Everyone's excited around here. Nipissing's pickerel, pike and perch all open this weekend. Walleye quota is 2, or 1 if you have a conservation license. Jigs and Trolls are the way to go
Lake trout and pickerel will be up high in the water for now. Lake trout will move down as the water warms up. Jigs and worms, or jigs and worm harnesses should be the ticket for lake trout. Troll rapalas for walleye, use gang trolls or troll a silver spoon. Best Ice Fishing in 25 years
Reports coming off the lake are unbelievable. Heading out from North Bay, go straight out from Silver Beach for three miles and you'll reach the perch bench. Catch 25 perch and get your limit of pickerel. My preferred bait is the swedish Pimple with the head of a shiner. Make sure you only use the head - because fish like the wounded look.
