When it comes to Salmon, every fish brings a lot of excitement to the boat whenever someone is hooked up with one of these powerhouses. This 24lb King was of no exception! Rough water conditions and malfunctions to our equipment made for a tough start to the day. All it takes is a tank like this on the other end of your line to turn what was a frustrating morning into one that we will always remember for all the right reasons! This past season may have been our first for Salmon but it certainly will not be our last!

One of my favourite fish to date is this 18lb Lake Trout I managed to haul in while trolling on a beautiful day during the middle of May. This being my personal best Laker, it took all of my strength to hold this beauty up for a couple of quick photos after a very hard fought battle. This also happened to be the first fish of the day for us. I guess we weren't exactly saving the "best'' for last on this particular trip!

There's truly nothing more special than spending time with the ones you love. Unless that also involves doing what you love at the same time. I consider myself so lucky that both my husband and I share the same passion for both hunting and fishing. So many things come and go in life, but the outdoors is always there, waiting to make your next memory.

This photo was taken while on our honeymoon near Chapleau, ON. My husband and I are an avid fishing couple who enjoy targeting a number of different species, one of which being walleye. Lucky for us, Highbrush Lake is teaming with both walleye and northern pike which we were able to take advantage of during our time there. This photo shows a couple of the nice eating size walleye that we had so much fun catching together.

While doing some spring trolling for Lake Trout I was able to land this beauty. A couple of things really stood out to me about this fish compared to all of the others that were caught that day. One was the very prominent spots that really seemed to ''pop'' due to the darker hue that surround them. The other characteristic that caught my eye in comparison to all of the others was how rounded the nose of this fish was. Altogether, this was just a gorgeous specimen which we were happy to release so that it could swim another day!

This is a photo I took of my husband Matt holding his 15lb Lake Trout he caught on a large trolling spoon while fishing on Lake Ontario. It's amazing how such a large body of water can be so calm with the right conditions, that it almost looks like glass as seen here in the background. Days like this make the 12 mile run to our fishing spot much more pleasant for sure!

I snapped this photo of my husband while taking some time from our grouse hunt to test his luck on some Brooke Trout in a small pond near Chapleau, ON. This was a last minute honeymoon following our wedding which was a perfect way to unwind and spend some quality time together as newlyweds! We hope to go back some day and revisit these places in hopes of landing a few more colourful Brookies!

There's nothing quite like the sound of a screaming drag as you helplessly hold on and watch literally hundreds of feet of line leave your spool in what seems like the blink of an eye. That was the case with this 19lb Chinook Salmon. These fish are extremely powerful and put up a great fight every time. Reflecting back on photos like this one bring back the itch to jump in the boat and head out on the big water after a long winter!

While trolling for Chinook Salmon on Lake Ontario, this beautiful Steelhead hit one of our spoons which was located high in the water column. Considering the size of this fish, it put up one heck of a fight! We just love the beautiful chrome colour in contrast to the dark strip that runs along the top half of the back. It is certainly a pretty specimen. You just never know what could be on the other end of the line while fishing big bodies of water such as the Great Lakes.

This photo was taken of my husband Matt on the shore of Highbrush Lake near Chapleau, ON. Judging by the photo, one would assume the fishing was quite easy, but that wasn't the case until we gained some useful knowledge from some very helpful locals. The previous day produced zero walleye; but after picking up some tips and techniques from the locals, we were able to catch our limit in a matter of minutes along with some nice eater sized Northern Pike!

This is a photo I took of my husband (Matt) holding a nice Chinook Salmon he caught while using a Dipsy Diver setup on a hot summer morning. I can't think of many things that are more relaxing than watching the sun break over the horizon as you set your lines hoping to connect with one of these feisty predators. There's also nothing like seeing a Chinook Salmon slam a Dipsy rod.

2019 marked the beginning of something great for my husband and I when we took to Lake Ontario for our first ever Salmon fishing trip. We didn't put a lot of fish in the boat, but I still managed to catch my first Chinook Salmon! What an exciting moment it was to see this beautiful fish break the surface and eventually, scooped up in the landing net. It's safe to say that we are officially "hooked" on Chinook! Just another great excuse to spend time on the water with the ones we love.

This photo was taken during one of our spring Lake Trout fishing trips on Lake Ontario. I caught this beauty on a large spoon while trolling a shallow ledge. As expected, the fish put up a great fight and left yet another great memory to reflect back on one day!

What's better than catching a Chinook Salmon? How about catching two!? This photo was taken at the end of a very enjoyable afternoon on Lake Ontario. My husband and I caught multiple fish and decided to take some home for dinner. Just as we were about to pack up for the evening, one more Chinook decided to hit making for just a little bit more excitement before the night's end! As you can see, we really had our hands full here (no pun intended).

This photo of me was taken in mid May while fishing for spring Lake Trout. The Lakers were quite shallow, making them easily accessible for our large spoons in which we were trolling that day. There's no need to hit the gym after reeling in a few fish like this! We just love the beautiful bronze hue on this one.

This is a photo of my husband Matt with a nice Chinook Salmon caught on a spoon while fishing on Lake Ontario. In typical fashion, the fish put up a great fight peeling hundreds of feet of line on its biggest run! Even though this past season was our first for targeting the "Kings'' of Lake O, it certainly will not be our last.

This is one of many walleye that were caught on our trip to Highbrush lake near Chapleau, ON. There's truly nothing more special than spending time on the water with the ones you love, in addition to catching high numbers of fish especially while enjoying the pretty fall colours!

This is a picture of my husband Matt holding a couple of walleye that we caught while on our honeymoon in the fall. We were fishing on Highbrush Lake near Chapleau, Ontario. We were quite impressed with the colour variation between fish.

While trolling deep diving crank baits on the Bay of Quinte in late November, this nice walleye hit on a planer board. It's fish like this that make freezing on a boat late in the year totally worth it! After a quick photo, the fish was released to swim another day.

I caught this 12 pound chinook salmon on a hot summer day while trolling with my husband Matt. We admired the prominent spots on the upper head and back; what a pretty fish.

My husband Matt caught this nice lake trout while doing some spring trolling on Lake Ontario. It was one of many that we caught that day.

I caught this 20 pound freshwater drum while trolling deep diving crank baits for walleye on the Bay of Quinte. The fish put up a great fight and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of it when we landed it in the net.

My husband Matt took this photo of me after a wonderful day of fishing on Highbrush Lake near Chapleau, Ontario. We decided to go to Northern Ontario for our honeymoon in October and we were beyond happy to not only go out and enjoy the beautiful fall colours but to be able to catch our limit of pike and walleye!

I took this photo of my husband Matt while on our honeymoon in Chapleau, Ontario. We fished from shore at a local pond where we caught a number of beautiful brook trout like this one.
