Me and my buddies decided to head up to Northern Manitoba for one last fish on open water in October. We were heading up to Kississing Lake and decided to go see how Clearwater Lake looked. The lake was dead calm which is pretty rare. So we decided to drop the boat in and fish a few hours before dark. Within the first hour of trolling a reef my buddy hooked up with a fish. As I was reeling in, my line went tight. For a minute I thought we had hooked the same fish. He reeled his in, it was a beautiful 38" Lake trout! I fought with mine for about 15 minutes and finally got it in the boat. It was a 41 1/4" giant! Pretty crazy double header! They ended up being the only two masters anglers caught that whole weekend. It was well worth it!
