My daughter Sophie and I were playing at our house on a school snow day when I asked her if she'd like to go ice fishing with me. She had been ice fishing with me before but never fished herself because she was scared of the fish, she was more interested in having snacks, hot chocolate and coloring while I fished. I only had two lines setup since it was a cold windy day on lake nippissing. The day was winding down and I had caught a few Perch. I was getting the snowmobile and sleigh ready for the ride home when she yells 'Dad! There's bite!' I told her to get it and don't forget to 'SET' the hook! (I had taught her earlier in the day) and I come around to the door and see that she not only caught her first fish, but a pickerel on top of that! As you can tell by the picture she was excited! This was a great father daughter moment that we will never forget. I hope to have many more fishing days with her and someday soon my other daughter.
