Wild rainbow caught on the Kootenay River. Put up quite a fight with several aerial acrobatics, and was released unharmed to grow bigger. Great way to end the winter blues and head into spring fishing.
4lb Rainbow
This wild rainbow was caught in the Columbia River in Castlegar. The fish did not want to be reeled in, as every time I brought her into the shallows she would make a run against the drag. There was a lot of shouting between my mom and my sister when landing it because we didn't have a net. My mom though the fish wouldn't be tired enough to grab, but she eventually grabbed it for this picture.
An old shack made of tarps and wood. Luckily there was no dead body in there, possibly a hunting warm up shack. Ironically, I was looking for a cabin when I thought where would it hide, and I turned out to be staring right at this shack.
Paved boat launch, very accessible by all vehicles. Plenty of parking for bigger boat trailers but in the summer get there early because it is packed with Albertans and locals.
