Every year on my birthday I go fishing. Most years it's salmon fishing on the Skeena with my son Tanner. Since it was my 50th birthday, and I have 5 other kids that have missed out on the birthday fishing, my mission was to have them all fishing with me this year. Mission accomplished!

I celebrated my 50th birthday with friends and family at Tezzeron Lake in August. An amazing weekend was capped off with this beauty Rainbow. Happy birthday to me :).

China Bar Monster

My son and I had made our annual trek out West to our favorite place on earth. We know the scenery is going to be amazing, and chances are pretty good that we're going to catch some fish, but we could only dream about catching a fish like this. It was my birthday, we were just relaxing in our lawn chairs, soaking up the sun, and watching those rod tips, when all of a sudden this monster came flying out the water... it was easily 10 feet in the air... in and out of the water and dancing down the river... line screaming off the real. What an amazing site and what a feeling. By far the most powerful and acrobatic fish I've had on in my 20 years of fishing the Skeena. I can only dream about catching one of these again... we'll be back this summer!
