I spent a full week fishing around an area I suspected the walleye to be moving to for year end and I was able to catch a lake trout, burbot, Cisco and a pike some how instead. I was feeling probably the most discouraged I have ever felt about trying to catch one species. Finally on the last night before they closed for the season I had the biggest mark on my flasher I have ever seen come up and hit my lure. I brought in a 7.5lb blue walleye, which I was so pumped about and figured would be the catch of the night. About ten minutes later another monster mark appeared on the screen and took the bait. It fought so hard that half way through the fight me and my friend assumed it must be a lake trout, but to our surprise it ended up being my first 10lb walleye... Needless to say I'm hooked now !!!
