My best day of lake trout fishing came on Lake of the Woods on a mild February day. Thanks to my good buddy Myles, as well as our Ifish pro's we were able to snag onto four world class lake trout, with this one being the biggest at 38". Lake of the Woods is known to produce some world class fishing, from lake trout, musky, walleye and much more. However, it is tough to compare hooking onto a lake trout of this caliber. If I was only able to fish for one species the rest of my life, it would most likely be a lake trout.

Selkirk, Manitoba - A world class fishery, known for some massive catfish.. along with everything in between. This was during one of the best summer fishing days I had on the bank of the Red River. In the midst of all the catfish action we had that night, this absolute beautiful drum caught me by surprise. The Red River is such a awesome fishery because of the diversity if offers. Also, with the amount of fish that can be caught right off the bank - no boat needed. There is no better place to rush to after work on a sunny evening - and you can be sure I'll be posted up in this same spot for much of this upcoming summer.

Made our way into the back creek at dusk looking for some big large mouth hiding out in the weeds. While throwing some tope waters and flipping jigs I decided to put the drone in the air since we were delighted with a beautiful sunset. The Canadian shield always seems to deliver gorgeous sunsets which is why I often refer northwest Ontario to God's Country. This is just one of the reasons why I love having a cottage in the Kenora area.

It was a chilly spring day so we decided to head north of kenora to try and hook into a lake trout. After getting rained on for about two hours, with no luck and a low morale, my dad hooked up to a beautiful dark colored lake trout. It was the first of two from that day, and one of my favourite fishing pictures of us together. I try and cherish these moments as much as possible because my dad is the one who has taught my everything I know about fishing and the outdoors. Moments like these are priceless.
