It's entirely possible to fall in love... with a body of water. My fishing pal Adam earned some solid callouses form the cork grips on our fly rods while landing beautifully decorated speckled trout in the clear and cool water of the Sutton River watershed. This one was a brilliant example of the quality of the remote fishery. Not for the faint of heart, unless camping with one eye open for polar bears is your thing!

An atypically SMALL coastal speck of the Sutton River.

Bamboo guru Adam Chow landed this beautiful coastal speckled trout on the Sutton River last summer. Mid-west fly fishing in the east!

Another beautiful coastal brook trout!

This is another hefty coastal brook trout from the Hudson Bay watershed. My friend Adam Chow and I spent a week in heaven. Going home was the hardest part of roughing it for a 10 days in the rain, wind and cold (except for this gorgeous sunny day). This fish in particular was truly a treat because of its colours and fight - I recall making an other-worldly sound of joy when I saw it jump and finally landed it! I almost looked over my shoulder to see who made the noise :D Photo credits to camera man Adam.

My pal Adam Chow and I took the trip of a lifetime to the Sutton River near Polar Bear Provincial Park. Day in and day out we caught the most Speck-tacular (get it?) brook trout on the fly. The water was gin clear and cool and it was mostly sight-fishing pockets and riffles. Big fish on small water makes for a truly memorable day.
