Sometime probably during the 1970s Bass were introduced to island lake. The population is dwindling but they are still present in the lake.

I have fished this lake numerous time in the past 10 years with no success of smallies. I would love to connect with pigeongamer346 to see proof of this.

I've never fished here but when I heard about smallmouth in Alberta it kind of intrigued me so I did a bit of research into it. From what I gather they were introduced in a different Island Lake, about 20 km north of Smoky Lake.
