A chilly brisk and quiet morning lakeside of island lake in Kenora Ontario. Fog just settling over the water and the only sojnd was the soft hum of the wind blowing through the surrounding forest. It was my first cast, not just of the day but of the open water season. I wasnt even able to begin reeling in before the best Northern i have ever caught gulped the hook. A great fght for the beginning of the season which was all too short of a fight but had this storybook ending. I held my 39 inch Northern in my arms and just about slipped a ring on it before releasing it back to the water. That is what i call true love and even better that i had my gorgeous wife michelle to share the moment with.

The second my lure hit the water and began its plunge for a half a second, i wasnt even able to begin reeling in before the best Northern I have ever caught gulped the hook.
