From Parkland County's Environmental Conservation Master Plan: This 207 ha lake is situated within a wide, flat glacial meltwater channel. Topography surrounding the lake is undulating to gently rolling, with a mosaic of wetlands and peatlands that make it unsuitable for residential development. Northern pike occasionally enter the lake from Mink Creek. However, the lake is subject to winterkill due to shallow water depths and is not suitable for stocking. The south and east side of the lake has subdivision developments of permanent residences.

Well, it’s a new year and ice fishing in Alberta is in full swing. There are a lot of lakes close to Edmonton that are very productive in the wintertime. Here are just a few! https://www.anglersatlas.com/blog/top-5-ice-fishing-spots-in-the-edmonton-area

Winter Kill

Went there with my daughter on July 27th, 2016 from 10am to 0100pm. The water was a murky green, you could see minnows, and there were pelicans on the lake but judging by the max depth of 10 feet this lake most likely experiences winter kill. Needless to say we got no bites, no jumping in the distance, too bad, its a gorgeous lake for canoes and kayaks.

Poorly marked, this access road provides almost a boat launch through about 10 metres of reeds into the lake.
