Fork Lake Fish

Historically Jumbo Yellow Perch fill in the Walleye niche here. Despite many attempts Walleye don't survive and reproduce in Fork Lake. The Pike here are delicious eating and have an orange yellow flesh. Lower water levels and a failed dam by Ducks Unlimited have reduced fish sizes. Oh yeah, pavement brought in more pressure. Locals used to net perch for the New York market.
