Fishing the Hamilton pier by the warship for perch, 50ft+ depth. Casted a jighead and minnow out, as it was falling to the bottom instead of the casual drop my line started peeling! I gave my baila quick push and locked into this gorgeous female, couple quick pics and back she went to breed those gorgeous jeans. My pb brown

Beautiful evening bite conditions were perfect for the kayak, and the fish were hitting everything. Had a blast fishing top water that night too, if you can get access to a boat this little gem is great. Shore fishing can be tough in the mid summer as very thick weeds grow to the surface. Fishing the open pockets, or throw a spinner on and bring it in just under the surface. Let the blades pump just fast enough to spin, keeping your rod tip high will help you control the depth of your spinner. Just be ready on a strike to load up for a hook set, you’ll most likely get an amazing strike on the surface. It worked for me 😉🎣

Fishing snake island, 18ft of water. Using the simcoe bug perch pattern, always get jumbos there never fails. One of my favourite lakes in Ontario to fish during the hard water season, unless I head even further north

Hamilton harbour, near the point on the far tip of the beach. Pitching Texas rig

My personal best pike, and during hard water season at that. On my brand new st croix rod, buckshot spoon chartreuse in colour. Live 6” shiner, dead sticked beside me. Let the shiner do the work, and the rattle brought pike in all day.
