Spotted Bass are native to the Mississippi River basin from southern Ohio and West Virginia south to the Gulf of Mexico, but can be found in various other states throughout the middle to southern U.S. They have a gold-green body with mottled spotting on the dorsal part of the body which fades to white or yellow on the belly, they have a distinct dark spot right before their tail fin. Average length of Spotted Bass is about 11-24 inches with weights about 1-3 pounds.
