Redeye Bass
The range of Redeye bass includes Alabama, the Savannah, the Coosa, the Chattahoochee, and the Warrior rivers in Georgia and Alabama along with southeastern Tennessee. Redeye bass prefer a habitat of rocky runs, pools and creeks along with small to medium rivers. Redeye bass like cold water and are not typically found in natural lakes, ponds or reservoirs. Their diet consists of primarily larval insects, Crayfish, and small fish. Redeye bass can range in length from 5.6in to 15in. The most common identifiers for this species is their red eyes, along with redder fins than other black bass. They are typically bronze or olive in color and have dark green mottling with a yellow to white belly. They also have a prominent dark spot on their gill plate.
