Arctic Cisco are silvery in colour with brown to dark green backs and pale fins. They are found in drainages along the coast of the Arctic Ocean in Eurasia and from Cape Barrow to Coronation Bay along the northern coast of North America. These cisco can reach a maximum length of 65 cm (26 in) and are commonly found around 47 cm (19 in). They primarily feed on small fish and invertebrates such as shrimp and crabs. Arctic Cisco reach maturity at 8–9 years of age and can migrate over 1,000 km (620 mi) inland to spawn.
