American Silver Perch

American Silver Perch, as the name suggests, are silvery in colour with a bluish-green tinge along the back that fades to yellowish along the belly. They can reach a maximum length of 30 cm (12 in) and are more commonly found in the 20 cm (8 in) range. These fish are found along the eastern coast of North America, from New York to southern Florida, as well as along the eastern and northern coasts of the Gulf of Mexico. They prefer coastal waters with sandy bottoms and can be found in estuaries during the summer. Their diet primarily consists of crustaceans, small worms, and small fishes. American Silver Perch are not commonly targeted by anglers, except for use as baitfish. Source: FishBase (https://www.fishbase.org/summary/Bairdiella_chrysoura.html)
