Photo Contest

Photo Contest WinnerThe votes are in and a selection of talented and happy campers were chosen as the winners of the "Get Camping in BC Photo Contest" run by the Camping and RVing BC Coalition (CRVBCC).

In keeping with their efforts to encourage people to camp in British Columbia, the CRVBCC launched the contest in May of 2009 to capture the spirit of camping in British Columbia, in a variety of categories: Adventure and Physical Fun; On the Open Road; Nature's Splendour, and Family and Friends. The entries were judged by on-line voting from the general public and by a panel of judges including Kimberley Reid from BC Parks, Corinne Innes from Parks Canada and Bill Marshall from Recreation Sites and Trails BC.

"We were pleased to see that so many people enjoyed BC's beautiful campgrounds and parks in 2009," said Joss Penny, Coalition Chair and Executive Director of the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association. "The amazing amount of entries really showed the immense pride BC residents take in the wide range of affordable vacation opportunities in our province - thank you for sharing your photo memories".

Lancer Fan of Victoria won two of the four categories, Nature's Splendour and Adventure and Physical Fun. His Circlet Lake Campground image in the Nature's Splendour category won the Grand Prize a five-day RV Rental in a 24/25' Class C Motorhome, a Family/Group National Parks of Canada Pass valid for one year and a Garmin Nuvi 255 W GPS at a total value of $2000.
