We, Derek and I are planning on going there to ice fish, based on the map there is a trail (dotted line) or maybe a dirt road, of this lake that runs along the north side. (based on the map) We are assuming that you can fish off the shore, just not too sure where, as for boating, they allow motor boats, probably the only lake that allows this in the park. Caution for windy days. As for lures, big sliver & gold hammered spoons otherwise known as Williams Wablers or even big white tube jigs and maybe airplane jigs. Give those try and let us know how you make out. We'll updated info about our ice fishing trip to let know how we made out. Can not wait to go... we are soo excited.... average size 12lbs!! Can you believe that!!! Cheers Christie Ann & Derek

Hey Spuddy Minnewanka is closed to ice fishing. Season opens May long weekend and closes Sept long weekend. Very heavy fines in National Parks for fishing during closed season

Spuddy :flyfisheris bang on and those ragers have NO sense of humor. As an alternative might try spray lake above canmore which can be good . The lake trout are smaller 2-3 pounds. Try out from the camp site. There are some good humps that come up to around 30ft. Jig just off botton with small deady dicks or the like. The shallows hols some nice rocky white fish...use flies. Bait fish is not allowed in spray lakes. Another spotis the upper ens of ghost lake just east of morley. Good luck.....suds1
