this lake is loaded with, in my opinion, the best fish to catch in the world, the smallmouth bass. i catch probably about 20 - 50 fish a day when i go. there are a lot of little ones but every so often u can haul out a real hog. my biggest in gardom lake was a 5 lb monster caught in less than 5 ft of water, u cant tell me there is anything better than that.

Karson: Very interested to hear that there are bass here. The map on this site shows every type of fish but bass! Any idea how the bass came to be there? Rick

I heard it was recently killed off due to perch infestation, can anyone confirm this?

As of 2008., Gardom Lake is closed to fishing. Some unthinking people introduced perch into the lake, and it will be poisoned off and not open for fishing again until 2012. Doug Grant
