On the west end of Francois Lake there are many forestry campsites wih boat launches and a couple of privately owner places, including Noralee Resort , You access this end of the lake either through Burns Lake and then south on hwy 35 or west of Houston and south on the Morice River road. turn left at Owen East at 52/5km drive through the Owen East 13km long onto Colleymount Rd. Then to Noralee Resort which has 8 cabins, 30Rv sites and a restaurant/store, boat launch and dock. The Lake is very deep , cold and clean so no wormy fish. There are Char(Lake trout), Dolly varden, Rainbow, Kokanee. The Char are caught with down riggers when the weather gets warmer or nearer the surface in the spring . Char fishing is closed in the fall for about 6 weeks due to spawning check your regulations. Rainbow are caught on just about anything but a lure with black beads and a worm seem to work really well. Kokanee seem to like lures with red beads and a worm. All of the above can also be caught through the ice. Ling cod is also caught with night lines. Set up according to the fishing regulations. At Noralee Resort the proof of the fantastic fishing is on the wall we try to post all catches big or small on the wall. of course we do have camera shy customers so not everyone is on the wall.
