Visited the lake on March 2nd and the lake was really coming to life. Still snow in the shady spots, but a large midge population and fish rising. Flock of Trumpeter Swans, several otters, and many wrens and song birds in the surrounding forest. Didn’t see any turtles, though. This is a jem of a lake and I encourage everyone to tread lightly and preserve it’s beauty.

I went on Feb 29 and the only rings I saw were caused by rain drops.

Visited again in September of 08, used a barbless nymph pattern and caught and released numerous small trout, none larger than 8 inches. The larger fish had "large-head-small-body" syndrome, which leads me to believe that either there is stiff competition (i.e. lots of fish) or a collapse of invertebrates at certain times of the year. Much of the lake was covered in a dense mat of water shield and open water contained other submerged vegetation. Spin casting and trolling would not be an option on this lake. Scenery was as beautiful as ever and there was an abundance of bird life in the surrounding forest.
