Busy Lake

The fishing at Roche Lake can be trying. It is a fairly large lake, but it can be extremely busy. I was there the first weekend in June a couple of years ago and there were at least five separate fishing derbies happening at the same time! The lake is very rich in nutrients and insect life. Just go down to the lakeshore in the dark with a flashlight. I didn’t know Leeches and Dragonfly Nymphs got that big! There is also an abundant hatch of Sedge Flies in June.
